Metering controller M15

Mobile dosing controller for laboratory installation or wall mounting
Dosierregler M15

The M15 mobile dosing controller is the link between a gravimetric or volumetric measuring unit and a dosing pump to ensure precision dosing with high accuracy and reproducibility.

Construction:

It consists of a closed cast aluminum housing in silver metallic paint and 2 end covers made of die-cast zinc alloy. In one-piece profile design, the housing meets the requirements of IP65 protection.

A swiveling mounting bracket is provided for use on a table, e.g. in the laboratory.

A likewise swiveling bracket allows wall mounting.

In addition to the mains connection for DC and AC voltage, the M15 dosing controller has a micro SD slot for data storage and circular connectors for the scale, the dosing pump and for a refill pump.

gravimetric control:

A gravimetrically controlled dosing process is ideal if the dosing quantity supplied to the respective process must be monitored and documented by means of a precision scale.

The precision scale, usually located on the suction side of the dosing pump, communicates in this case with the dosing controller, which compares the setpoint value with the actual value taken from the master and corrects the dosing behavior of the dosing pump if necessary.

It is of elementary importance for such a dosing control that the dosing controller takes into account the pulsating dosing sequences by not interpreting the missing withdrawal from the scale's receiver during the ejection process as missing withdrawal and causing erratic control sequences...

For low-pulsation, long-duration discharge processes, such as those typically associated with R05 and R15 metering pumps, it is particularly important to take into account the long pause times on the suction side (balance) with suitable control algorithms in order to avoid irregular, pulsating control behavior. The M15 dosing controller is especially designed for this purpose.

volumetric flow control:

A volumetrically controlled dosing process is suitable if a dosing quantity supplied to the respective process has to be monitored and documented by means of suitable flow measurement technology.

A flow meter, such as a thermal or a Coriolis meter and usually located on the pressure side of the dosing pump, communicates in this case with the dosing controller, which compares the setpoint with the actual value transmitted by the meter and corrects the dosing behavior of the dosing pump if necessary.

It is of elementary importance for such a dosing control that the dosing controller takes into account the pulsating dosing sequences by not interpreting the briefly interrupted volume flow on the pressure side of the dosing pump during the suction process as incorrect dosing, which would result in erratic control sequences.

Low-pulsation, long-lasting discharge processes with short interruptions of the volume flow, as typically found in R05 and R15 metering pumps, must therefore be taken into account by suitable control algorithms of the M15 metering controller. The dosing controller is designed for this in a special way.

Refill pump:

In addition to the dosing pump to be monitored, the M15 dosing controller has another connection for a refill pump. With the aid of the dosing controller, it ensures that the feed tank is always kept between a specific min. and max. fill level. This refilling option enables "quasi-continuous" dosing sequences, filling processes or even long-term dosing.

Taring and documentation:

The M15 dosing controller can be used to tare the balance before starting a dosing process.
In addition, the M15 dosing controller has an SD slot for an SD memory card to read out and document important dosing parameters if required.

These include the:

- the setpoint for the dosing pump in ml/min
- the actual value of the dosing in ml/min
- the manipulated variable between 0 and 100% of the mA signal with which the controller controls the dosing pump
- the current net weight on the scale
- the time interval for recording the net weight on the scale
