Materials Equipment
All components in contact with the fluid - valves, diaphragm, pump head and fluid fittings - are made of virgin high-purity PTFE or special PTFE modifications, thus ensuring extremely high chemical resistance. In addition, Ritmo® metering pumps meet the criteria of the FDA (CFR 21 Section 177-1550) and BGVO (EU Directives 10/2011; 1935/2004; 2023/2006) and may be used for consumer articles with food contact.
Since no other materials, seals or valves restrict the chemical resistance, Ritmo® precision feeders are suitable for metering almost all aggressive fluids and gases, acids, alkalis and solvents. They can handle metering tasks with the highest degree of purity and absolute freedom from metals down to the ppb range, as required in semiconductor technology, for example.
High functionality
A selection of user-specific dosing sequences and important functions are available to the user directly on the large touchscreen of the Ritmo®15. The desired dosing rate can be entered on the display both in ml/min and as a gravimetric setpoint in g/min. Variable adjustment of the stroke volume is also possible. This allows you to precisely adapt the dosing behavior to a batch or filling process. Thanks to the increased setting range up to a maximum of 1:7,000, the Ritmo®15 is once again significantly more flexible and investment-saving than the Ritmo®05.
In addition to the familiar "valve open" and "valve closed" positions, the adjustable opening travels of the valves also permit any intermediate value. Thus, for example, an overflow valve can be simulated within the pump. Pressure relief of gases during the dosing process is prevented. Metering in vacuum or distillation processes, e.g. thin layers, becomes noticeably more uniform.
The innovative sensor system integrated in the pump drive permanently measures the pressure in the pump chamber and the associated diaphragm path. This allows you to precisely record operating conditions and optimize workflows.
In combination with the absolutely tight, positively controlled valves, the precision feeder achieves a high dosing accuracy (<1%) and a reproducibility of more than 99.5%.
The return function reverses the delivery direction of the dosing pump so that the pump head and lines from the reaction vessel to the receiver can be emptied without loss. This pays off financially for expensive raw materials and increases work safety when handling aggressive and harmful fluids.
The Clean function opens both valves simultaneously and creates a free passage through the hermetically sealed pump head. This allows the pump head to be flushed and cleaned. Under certain circumstances, solid deposits can also be dissolved or the pump head can be sterilized with hot steam. Because cleaning and flushing with the Clean function are also possible in the installed state, repair and maintenance costs as well as installation time are reduced.
The Max function ensures fast filling of the apparatus from the receiver to the reaction vessel. This is particularly crucial for very small dispensing rates, which normally require very long filling times. The Max function thus helps to save time when working with very small dispensing rates, especially during commissioning.
Reliable fluid connections
We equip the Ritmo®15 as standard with our newly developed RFC fluid connections, which are made of PTFE. A special clamping and sealing ring hermetically seals the connection of the PTFE hoses and withstands a load of up to 18 bar. If required, we can also equip the metering pumps with stainless steel cutting ring fittings. In this case, a special adapter with PTFE seals ensures the transition to the PTFE pump head.
The user can easily replace the screw fittings himself and thus quickly and easily adapt the pump to changing tasks.
Automation capability
Like all Ritmo® metering pumps, the Ritmo®15 also has a remote interface. This allows you to specify setpoints (analog 4-20 mA or 2-10 V) and start and stop the pump via a potential-free closing contact in the same way. The analog setpoint signal is flexibly adjustable. This ensures a sufficiently high resolution despite the very large control range of up to 1:7,000. In addition to the analog input, an analog output and flexibly usable digital inputs and outputs are also available on request.
Ritmo®15 metering pumps can additionally be equipped with digital communication interfaces
equipment. This allows you to map all functions of the pump and use them in a process control system.
Active dosing control
Optionally, the metering pumps of type Ritmo®15 can be equipped with a metering controller. You can either connect a flow sensor or a scale directly to the pump - the latter preferably on the suction side.
The dosing controller installed in the Ritmo®15, in combination with special algorithms, gives it a decisive advantage over conventional diaphragm pumps. This is because the dosing controller can cope with discontinuous withdrawal of the medium on the suction side, as it knows the individual dosing steps. It can therefore monitor the pumping process and readjust it if necessary without having to stop and restart it in between. With this self-monitoring, the R15 meets the highest demands for process reliability and even fulfills GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) specifications.
It is also possible to connect level probes/float switches to an R15 metering pump. This enables the pump to keep the level of a container constant or to stop when a predefined level is reached in the container and to output an alarm signal to a higher-level control system.
Valve and drive technology
Ritmo®15 metering pumps differ significantly from diaphragm metering pumps with ball valve technology. For example, the R15 works with small valve diaphragms which it opens and closes via stepper motors. These valves ensure absolutely tight operating conditions and make the metering pump suitable for vacuum.
Forced-controlled valves make the dosing behavior insensitive to
Therefore, the Ritmo®15 is absolutely self-priming and completely tight between suction and discharge side. It does not need to be vented, filled or protected against dry running.
Ritmo®15 precision feeders normally always operate with the full stroke length. The pump calculates the stroke frequency based on the specified dosing rate. The pump chamber is filled as quickly as possible at a constant speed in order to keep metering interruptions as short as possible. The stroke frequency is therefore only changed via the discharge speed. The associated metering time is between 1 s and 30 min.
The sliding diaphragm drive converts the typical pulsation of a diaphragm pump into a pulsation-reduced, gentle discharge process. Pulsation dampeners are thus no longer absolutely necessary.
Software options
You can expand the range of functions of the Ritmo®15 with software options and thus adapt it to your specific application. Most of these options can be activated by entering a license code - without you having to send the instrument to the factory.
Below is an excerpt from the list of options offered. Do you have special wishes, then contact us! We will try to work out a solution together with you.
License "Setting pressure valve"
With this license you can influence the opening of the pressure side valve. In addition to the permanently defined valve positions "open" and "closed", this allows you to move to any intermediate positions.
The "Pressure valve setting" license improves the dispensing process by, among other things
"Anticavitation" license
You can use this software option to influence the priming behavior of the dosing pump. After activating this function, the diaphragm moves more slowly during priming, which reduces the flow rate and the pressure loss in the suction lines. In addition, the suction-side valve opens by up to 100% beyond the standard setting. The increased cross-section reduces the pressure drop when filling the pump chamber.
The "anti-cavitation" license improves the dispensing process by, among other things.
"Timer-Wait" license
With "Timer-Wait" you can carry out time-controlled dispensing by specifying a waiting time and a dispensing time. In this option, the time and not the dispensed quantity is decisive for the dispensing. The time specification can be between one minute and 24 hours. As a new function, the Ritmo®15 also allows a cycle number between 1 and 255 (0 = permanently active) to be preset. The pump repeats the timer-wait intervals correspondingly often, cancellation is possible at any time.
"Setting stroke" license
In the standard version, the pump basically operates with full stroke. The dosing rate results from the variable speed during the dosing process. The "Stroke adjustment" license gives you the option of variably setting the stroke between 1% and 100%. The pump adjusts the travel speed accordingly during the dispensing process. This allows you to increase the dosing or the dosing range from 1:1,000 to 1:7,000. With large pressure differences, the discharge of air inclusions in the medium is significantly improved.
"Stroke volume stroke frequency setting" license"
Unlike the standard pump with time-variable metering sequences, this option opens up the possibility of specifying the stroke volume (deflection of the diaphragm) and the stroke frequency. The pump thus imitates the operating sequences of classic mechanical dosing pumps, i.e. the diaphragm is always moved at the maximum speed and pauses between the strokes according to the dosing volume specifications. For better orientation, the pump shows the equivalent dosing rate in the display.
Stroke frequency: 1-50 strokes/min; setting interval: 0.2 strokes/min
Stroke: 1-100%; Setting interval: 0.2%
When using this function, the analog input (4-20 mA) of the standard pump is used for remote setting of the stroke frequency. The stroke distance is also set manually on the pump in remote mode.
"Filling mode" license
With the "Filling mode" license, you can convert the continuously operating dosing pump into a filling pump to which you can specify the desired filling quantity in ml and a filling time, on the basis of which the pump automatically calculates the optimum dosing rate. Once the specified filling quantity has been reached, the pump stops automatically and waits for a new start pulse. In this case, the dispensed quantity and not the time is decisive for the dispensing.
"Low pulsation suction" license
This option allows you to reverse the sequence of the dispensing speed. The pump draws in at variable speed with as little pulsation as possible and doses out this quantity at maximum speed. With this atypical metering sequence, the metering pump reduces pulsation waves on the suction side and improves, among other things, the removal of media from mass transfer processes.
"Reversible dosing" license
This license allows reversal of the dosing direction. In this mode, the pump sucks in at the upper nozzle (discharge nozzle) and doses out of the lower nozzle (suction nozzle). This means that solids that drop out no longer necessarily cause sedimentation in the suction area of the dosing pump, because after the reversal of direction they fall in the direction of flow and are therefore carried along and do not sediment.
Lizenz „Sperrcode“
With the "Lock code" license, the Ritmo®15 can be protected against unauthorized access. You can use a freely selectable four-digit PIN to lock either the entire user interface of the pump or only the "Pump settings" menu item.
